What we do
End-to-end pallet management
Every pallet we handle moves through the same controlled process — collected, graded, repaired where needed, and returned to work.
Collections
From 50 pallets upward, collected across Birmingham and the Midlands — usually within 48 hours, with a waste transfer note on every load.
Grading & sorting
Every pallet inspected against agreed criteria and sorted to Grade A, Grade B or biomass. You're paid on the grade, not an estimate.
Repair & remanufacture
Boards and blocks replaced, fixings set flush, and heat-treated stock kept segregated so the certification always matches the timber.
Supply & delivery
Graded stock delivered within the week — UK standard, Euro EPAL and non-standard sizes, in part or full loads across the Midlands.

Anatomy of a Grade A
Every pallet that leaves our bench is rebuilt to the same specification. Take one for a spin — drag it around.
Drag to rotate
- Deck Five 100×22 mm kiln-dried boards Full boards only on a Grade A — no splits, every fixing punched flush with the timber.
- Bearers Three 90×70 mm bearers, notched Four-way fork entry, checked square before the deck goes back on.
- Rating 1,000 kg dynamic · 4,000 kg static Safe working loads for a repaired UK standard 1200×1000 in everyday use.
- Stamp ISPM 15 mark on treated stock Heat-treated pallets carry the HT stamp on the outer bearer — spin the model to find it.
Who we are
A Birmingham yard with a simple promise
GreenCycle Pallets runs a single recycling yard on Coventry Road in Small Heath. We started with one van, a repair bench and a strong opinion: selling used pallets shouldn't mean chasing invoices, and buying them shouldn't mean guessing what turns up on the lorry.
- Graded against written criteriaEvery load sorted Grade A / B / repair to the same standard — and you see the count we settle on.
- Repaired at our own benchBoards replaced and fixings punched flush by our own team. Nothing is outsourced.
- Stored right for certificationHeat-treated stock kept under cover, with treatment records on file for every batch.
- Paperwork with every loadWaste transfer notes, VAT invoices and self-billing statements — issued the same day, every time.
If we quote it, we pay it.
If we grade it, you see the count.
If we book it, we're there.
Coventry Road, Small Heath — most regulars sit inside the inner ring; scheduled collections cover the Midlands within 48 hours. Further afield by arrangement.

Regulation & accreditation
Licensed, documented, verifiable
Trading in used pallets is a regulated waste activity. Here's what we operate under — and how to check each one yourself.
Reading the ISPM 15 mark
Every export-grade pallet carries the mark of the International Plant Protection Convention. Select each element of the stamp to see what it certifies.
IPPC symbol
The International Plant Protection Convention mark — proof the pallet meets ISPM 15, the standard that allows wood packaging to cross borders without spreading pests.
Environment Agency registration
Registered with the Environment Agency as an upper tier waste carrier, broker and dealer — registration CBDU580979, quoted on every quotation and checkable on the EA public register.
Duty of care documentation
A waste transfer note comes with every collection (section 34, Environmental Protection Act 1990). We keep each note for the statutory two years — duplicates on request.

Common questions
Asked at the gate, answered here
What's the minimum collection size?
50 pallets. Below that the transport cost usually outweighs the timber value — but call us anyway, because we can often add a small collection to a round we're already running.
How do you decide the grade?
Against written criteria we share before collection: board condition, block integrity, protruding fixings and repairs. Grading happens at our yard, and you're paid on the graded count with a breakdown emailed the same day.
When do I get paid for pallets you collect?
By Faster Payments within 3 working days of grading. We raise the self-billing invoice for you — one less document for your bookkeeper — and send remittance advice with the payment.
Do your prices include VAT?
Sell prices are quoted ex VAT and delivery. Our VAT registration is currently pending with HMRC — once our number is issued it will appear on every invoice, and we'll reissue full VAT invoices for earlier orders where needed so registered businesses can reclaim as normal.
Can I pay on account?
Yes — regular buyers can apply for a 30-day trade account, settled by Bacs or Direct Debit against a consolidated monthly invoice. Approval is subject to credit checks and usually takes 2 working days.
Do you deliver outside the Midlands?
Part loads run daily across Birmingham and the wider Midlands. Full articulated-lorry loads (around 500–600 pallets depending on type) go nationwide by arrangement — ask the desk for a delivered price.
What paperwork comes with a collection?
A waste transfer note on every load, as required by the Environmental Protection Act 1990, plus the grading breakdown and self-billing invoice. Keep your copy of the transfer note for two years.
Do you stock heat-treated pallets for export?
Yes — ISPM 15 heat-treated stock is held under cover, stamped, and supplied with treatment records so your freight forwarder has everything customs might ask for.
How do I get support or ask about an order?
Use the green message button in the corner of any page — we reply within one working hour (Mon–Fri 07:00–17:00, Sat to 12:00). Signed-in customers can also message from their trade account, where every order, booking and invoice has an “Ask about this” link, and our replies appear under Messages. Prefer WhatsApp? Tap “Chat on WhatsApp” in the same widget.
